Join us for an unforgettable journey to explore the legendary Q’eswachaka Bridge and the stunning 4 Lagoons of Peru. We will begin our adventure by visiting the four beautiful lagoons: Pomacanchi, Acopia, Asnacqoccha, and Pampamarca. These lagoons showcase Peru’s natural beauty and provide serene views perfect for relaxation and photographs.
Next, we will travel to the ancient Q’eswachaka Bridge, a handwoven suspension bridge over the Apurímac River. Measuring 28 meters (92 feet) long, this bridge has been rebuilt annually for over 500 years. The tradition is preserved by the communities of Huinchiri, Chaupibanda, Choccayhua, and Ccollana Quehue, using ichu grass, just as their Inca ancestors did.
A Journey Through Time and Tradition
The breathtaking views over the Apurímac River and the thrill of crossing the swaying structure will be unforgettable highlights. Each year, local villagers continue this tradition, making this tourist attraction a living piece of history.

We will enjoy a traditional breakfast in Cusipata, a small Andean village. Afterward, we will continue our journey, passing scenic views of rolling hills and highland plains.
Our first stop is Pomacanchi Lagoon, the largest of the four lagoons, with crystal-clear waters and local bird species. We will then visit Acopia Lagoon, where we can admire its peaceful surroundings and small village on its shore. Next, we will visit Asnacocha Lagoon, known for its mineral-rich waters and natural beauty. Lastly, we will stop at Pampamarca Lagoon, surrounded by stunning landscapes.
We will arrive at the Qeswachaka Bridge, an Inca engineering marvel made entirely of ichu grass. The bridge, measuring 28 meters long (92 feet), has been rebuilt annually by the local communities of Huinchiri, Chaupibanda, Choccayhua, and Ccollana Quehue for over 500 years. We will learn about the Q’eswa technique, used to weave the ropes, and explore the rich history of this UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage.
We will enjoy crossing the bridge, suspended over the Apurimac River. The crossing takes about 40 minutes, allowing us to experience the thrill of walking on a structure originally built in Inca times. As we cross, we will take in breathtaking views of the canyon below.
After our time at the bridge, we will return to Cusipata for a hearty picnic-style lunch. This will give us time to relax and enjoy the beautiful Andean scenery around us.
We will begin our return to Cusco, reflecting on the day’s experiences and the unique history we encountered. We will arrive back in Cusco around 6:00 pm and drop you off at your hotel.
The tour lasts approximately 14 hours, starting at 4:00 am and returning around 6:00 pm.
