Join us for the Classic Inca Trail 4 Days, the ultimate adventure along the legendary Inca Trail trek. This 4-day Inca Trail experience covers approximately 45 kilometers (28 miles) of stunning landscapes. We will guide you through the heart of the Andes, exploring iconic Inca sites and breathtaking mountain views.
On day one, we start our hike from km 82, ascending through the Sacred Valley. Our trail leads us past remarkable archaeological sites, gradually immersing us in the ancient world. You will carry your water bottle and personal items as we pace ourselves through moderate climbs.
The second day, the most challenging, will bring us to Dead Woman’s Pass at 4,215 meters (13,828 feet). You will conquer this steep ascent while taking in panoramic views, earning a true sense of accomplishment. We will continue along the trail, exploring lush cloud forests and hidden Inca sites.
On day three, we reach the magnificent Wiñay Wayna, an extraordinary archaeological site perched high in the mountains. After visiting this site, we will head to the Sun Gate (Inti Punku) for our first magical view of Machu Picchu.
Wiñay Wayna is an Inca archaeological site located along the Classic Inca Trail, just before reaching Machu Picchu. Sitting on a steep hillside at about 2,700 meters (8,858 feet) high, it has well-kept terraces, stone buildings, and fountains.
The name means «Forever Young» in Quechua, reflecting the site’s eternal beauty. Surrounded by lush cloud forests, Wiñay Wayna offers stunning views of the Urubamba River below. Making it a significant and breathtaking stop before arriving at the iconic Sun Gate and Machu Picchu.
The Sun Gate, or Inti Punku in Quechua, is the last and most famous stop on the Inca Trail before reaching Machu Picchu. Located at 2,720 meters (8,924 feet) above sea level, this ancient stone structure once served as a gateway for Inca pilgrims entering the sacred city.
The Sun Gate gives a stunning view of Machu Picchu, especially at sunrise when the first light shines on the ruins. It marks the end of the Inca Trail and gives hikers their first amazing view of Machu Picchu, making it a very rewarding and emotional moment.
The final day, we will hike to Machu Picchu, arriving early for an unforgettable tour of this wonder. You must carry your original passport for the entrance to Machu Picchu. Our experienced tour company will ensure everything is in place, from permits to logistics.
We recommend booking months in advance to secure your Inca Trail permits, as spaces are limited. You will be picked up from your hotel and returned after the tour. Let AV Tour Operator take care of your Inca Trail adventure with expertise. Ensure a memorable hike to Machu Picchu.
