We will meet you at the Cusco Airport with a sign displaying your name and our AV Tours logo. From there, we will transfer you to your accommodation in Cusco. Upon arrival, you will be greeted with a refreshing infusion of Muña or coca leaf tea. These are a local remedy to help with altitude acclimatization.
At either 8:30 AM or 1:00 PM, we will begin the Cusco City Tour. Our guide will take us to key archaeological sites surrounding Cusco, such as Saqsaywaman, Qenqo, Puca Pucara, and Tambomachay. These ruins are rich with history and offer stunning views of the valley.
We will also visit the Qoricancha, the famous Temple of the Sun, located in the heart of Cusco. The guided tour will provide insight into the importance of these places during the Inca Empire.
We will start early in the morning, heading to the train station for a scenic ride through the Sacred Valley to Aguas Calientes. This picturesque journey will last around 1 hour 45 minutes, and along the way.
We will see beautiful Andean landscapes, small villages, and the Urubamba River flowing beneath us. Once we arrive in Aguas Calientes, we will take a 30 minute bus ride to the entrance of the Machu Picchu citadel.
Our expert guide will lead us on a 2.5-hour Machu Picchu guided tour. It will showcase the most iconic areas, such as the Intihuatana (Sun Dial) or the Temple of the Sun. We will learn about the history and significance of these ancient Inca structures.
After the guided tour, you will have some free time to explore the ruins at your own pace. We will then return by bus to Aguas Calientes for lunch before taking the train back to Ollantaytambo. This is where our driver will be waiting to transfer us to Cusco.
On the final day, we will pick you up from your accommodation and transfer you to Cusco Airport. This will mark the end of our Machu Picchu tour from Cusco. We will ensure a smooth and timely departure. Leave Cusco with lasting memories of Peru’s incredible history and natural beauty.
