At Upis, we will enjoy a freshly prepared lunch in our camp and relax with some hot beverages. After resting, we will explore the stunning Huayna Ausangate Lagoon, where we will capture a stunning sunset. This peaceful spot will serve as our first campsite under the stars.
We will wake up early for a hearty breakfast before starting our hike to the Arapa Pass at 4,800 meters (15,748 feet). Along the way, we will enjoy panoramic views of snow-capped peaks and glacial lagoons. You will descend towards Yanacocha Lagoon, keeping an eye out for local wildlife like chinchillas and vizcachas. You might even spot deer or condors soaring above.

Today will be the most demanding day of the trek. After breakfast, we will climb towards the Ausangate Apacheta Pass. The ascent will take around two hours, leading us to the beautiful Ausangate Cocha Lagoon for a snack break. From there, we will push toward Palomani Pass, the highest point of the trek at 5,200 meters (17,060 feet).

After crossing Jampa Pass, we will descend through the scenic route of the Seven Turquoise Lakes. This is where we will have plenty of opportunities for photos. We will arrive at Pacchanta, where we will relax in the soothing hot springs and enjoy the tranquil atmosphere of this Andean village.
