Hotel Cusco

We will begin the day with a hotel pick-up in Cusco. From there, we will travel 20 minutes to Poroy Station. At the station, we will enjoy a welcome drink while admiring the elegant blue and gold Belmond Hiram Bingham train. The train’s vintage design, inspired by the 1920s, will set the tone for an unforgettable journey.
Once onboard, we will take our seats in the polished brass and wood interior, surrounded by luxury. The train will depart on a 3-hour ride through the Sacred Valley. As we ascend toward Aguas Calientes, we will enjoy panoramic views of the Andean landscape from the observation platform. The lush green valleys, steep mountainsides, and winding Urubamba River will provide a scenic backdrop throughout the ride.
During the journey, we will indulge in a three-course gourmet lunch paired with fine Peruvian, Argentine, and Chilean wines. As we dine, live musicians will entertain us with traditional Peruvian melodies, enhancing the atmosphere of this luxury train experience.
Upon arrival at Aguas Calientes, we will board a private bus reserved exclusively for Hiram Bingham passengers. The bus will take us on a winding road to the entrance of Machu Picchu. Perched at 2,134 meters (7,000 feet) above sea level, we will enter the Lost City of the Incas.
With a local guide, we will explore the ancient ruins, wandering through the ceremonial temples, streets, and terraces of this UNESCO World Heritage site. We will learn about the Incas’ architectural genius, the site’s history, and its spiritual significance. After the guided tour, we will have free time to explore on our own, soaking in the atmosphere of this incredible archaeological site.
After exploring Machu Picchu, we will head to the luxurious Belmond Sanctuary Lodge. Here, we will enjoy an indulgent afternoon tea, complete with scones, sandwiches, coffee, tea, and wine. This will be the perfect moment to relax and reflect on our visit to the sacred site.
We will then return to Aguas Calientes by private bus and reboard the Belmond Hiram Bingham train. On the return journey to Cusco, we will enjoy a gourmet four-course dinner. We can relax in the bar or join the live musicians for a lively evening of songs and dancing. Our luxurious adventure will end as we arrive back in Cusco, where we will transfer to our hotel.
